Elizabeth Wilburn JoyceElizabeth Wilburn JoyceMs. Joyce has over ten years of experience representing business organizations and financial institutions, individual directors and officers, shareholders and other constituent members of alternative entities, such as limited liability companies and partnerships, in matters before the Delaware State and Federal Courts, as well as jurisdictions outside of Delaware. She practices in the areas of corporate and commercial litigation, including internal corporate governance, fiduciary, appraisal, contract matters and business torts, commercial fraud, trade secrets, general business and real estate disputes. She is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of Delaware, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Ms. Joyce began her career as law clerk to The Honorable William C. Carpenter, Jr., of the Superior Court of Delaware. She first entered private practice with the Wilmington firm of Prickett Jones & Elliott. In 2000, She then became associated with Blank Rome LLP, becoming a partner in the firm’s Corporate Litigation Practice Group in January 2006, trying corporate and commercial disputes before the Delaware Court of Chancery, Delaware Superior Court, United States District Court for the District of Delaware and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, as well as in courts outside of Delaware and in private arbitrations.

Ms. Joyce holds a bachelor of arts degree, cum laude from Villanova University and a juris doctor from Widener University School of Law, where she served as an Articles Editor for the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law, a member of the Moot Court Honor Society, and authored two articles for publication.

Ms. Joyce is a member of the American Bar Association (Litigation Section and Business Section). She is also a member of the Delaware State Bar Association (Corporate Law Section, Women and the Law Section, past member of the Committee on Professional Ethics) and recently spent six years as a member of the Board of Trustees, New Castle Presbytery, including a term as its president. She now serves on the Board of the non-profit organization, Survivors of Abuse in Recovery, Inc. (SOAR) as well as the Endowment Committee of Meeting Ground, a non-profit organization advancing the needs of the homeless.
